The StoryThe story is simple. Jack is a private investigator/bounty hunter who is given a job to track down a kidnapped billionaire, Valentin Vanderheiden. Jack finally realizes through his source, the Mob Boss, that Valentin plans to kill his father, Hugh. Jack gets back too late and finds Hugh dead at his office table. When Valentin returns to collect one of Hugh's belongings, Jack confronts him and they have a duel to the finish. Production NotesFamily Values was one of our first projects to be filmed almost completely out of order. The first scene that we shot was shot in a Chapman Hall bathroom. This was the scene in which Jack hunts down and eventually shoots a criminal (Andrew). The second scene we shot was the Mob Boss scene with Matt Ryan and Robert R. Fike. This was only Rob Fike's second scene acting in any film. The next scene that was shot was the one with the Mob Boss and Jack Sterling in the Mob Boss's car. A few days later, production resumed with a scene involving Valentin (Kevin) killing Hugh (Tim). Then the scene with Jack shooting Valentin was filmed. Then we went back and filmed the scene with Jack walking out of the Mob Boss's place and the introduction of Valentin and his relationship with his secretary. Then we filmed the scene with Hugh and Jack, which was the second scene of the film. The last scene filmed was outside where Valentin killed Tony (Andrew). It was edited in one night by Andrew, but since then a Director's Cut has been made. |
